A Fracture Diary: Episode 3 Day 2 of Treatment, 16/10/18, post-operation The stretcher came rolling by to take me to the exit after the play. My legs were completely different after the operation. I felt a little sad that all the fun was over, but I was happy that the strenuous operation was over.  My left knee was covered in a white dress and my right leg was confined to something heavy. We all went along the passageway where I said to my mother, father, grandmother and grandfather, "Successful!" "Very good!" I told everyone that I couldn't wait to tell about my experience back at the play. I then was made to lie down on the ICU bed.  I had enjoyed my time in the operation. Those moments in the operation theatre were very memorable that I was sure that I will never, ever, ever forget these times. And after five minutes, I was lying on the bed. With a massager on my left hand that pressed it every 30 minutes (BP monitor), a fish that never stay...
A Fracture Diary : Episode 2 Day 2 of Treatment, 16/10/18 It was a very bright, sunny day. It was also a day of funny events - since it was the day of operation. I was with my mother and father at the hospital. They had returned from Delhi due to the incident. The doctor had said not to eat after seven in the morning and so I had breakfast pretty early. After seven o' clock I had to stay without food and water for 12 hours. The doctor had announced that the three-hour surgery will be from 3 pm to 6 pm and that I will have to be shifted to the operation theatre at 2.30 pm. The doctor explained all procedures and also gave the medical certificate to me. I ran through it and found that I had 45 days of leave! Whoa! That's what I call a mini-vacation!😃 And then the nurse entered, took a sample of my blood, did the allergy tests, made the set-up ready to infuse glucose solution and gave me my kandura and cap for the operation. After that, nothing much happened. I watched...
A Fracture Diary - Episode 1 Day of accident, 14th October 2018 It was a very fine day until then. Until that very moment when the lift crash-landed on the ground. Ouch! I was feeling dizzy. I didn't feel like getting up and walking at all.  And it was paining quite a lot. 😩 I was like this. Thank God that the mechanic came the moment the lift fell! Soon I crawled of the lift and sat down on the floor. "Hari, get up!" "Come on, we can shift you to the hospital only if you can get up!" I struggled to get up. I got up, but I couldn't stand even  for five seconds! And it hurt a lot. My grandmother and grandfather, who were with me, said,  "Seems like he is not able to get up. We might have to take him to the hospital in a wheelchair." So we called the hospital security and somehow, after five minutes I was lying down on the hospital casualty bed. That hospital was quite familiar with me and so are the doctors and nurses there.  ...

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my musings! In bed for the past one month, so planning to write something. It was that fateful day of 14th October 2018 when the lift fell down with a thud from the first floor, little did I realise that my world was going to turn topsy-turvy. The fracture, the surgery, the X-ray, everything was quite a very thrilling experience! I will narrate my hilarious episodes everyday. Read and enjoy! 😀 Harikrishnan M
